The Citymeile and Kranzplatz in Wiesbaden

The Citymeile pedestrian zone in Wiesbaden is characterised by streams of movement, orientation, and an inviting atmosphere. The surface area of the pedestrian zone is both linear and informally structured, which lends the space a certain amount of individuality. A traditional hedge parterre near the chancellery gives Kranzplatz a representative character. As part of this project two public open areas were redesigned: On the one hand the sense of orientation was increased through the recognisable individuality of the space, while on the other hand classical garden-art traditions were adhered to.
