The Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan Mosque, Abu Dhabi

A carpet served as the leitmotif for our design of the grounds at the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan Mosque in Abu Dhabi. A paving pattern of a carpet motif helps define the space of the inner courtyard. Water basins at the arcades along the sides increase the depth of space. Gardens form the outer edge of the mosque.
