Hanover | EXPO 2000 Southern Entrance

Southern Entrance

The character of EXPO Park South is both scenic and natural, and yet very formed. Material gained from excavating the rain water retention basin and from a soil management programme in Hanover was added to the originally flat site along the Messeschnellweg (a motorway to the trade fair grounds) to create a large hill and an embankment. These now define the site, while four Himmelstürme (towers) serve as prominent attention-getters.
